Which is okay, I guess. He seemed to have had a good attitude about it, at least.
And he doesn't seem to be of the mindset that got him the role.

Some can quickly tell the race - Black v White - of someone by just the voice. So that may be it - a Black voice replacing a White one.
So yeah, we shall see whitey keep dripping away, in all media, in all public viewing roles in more and more companies, and Government roles.

Then, only black people will be able to write black characters. Authors will not be allowed to write characters of a different race, but they will not dare write a book with only one race so every book will have to be a collaboration. Same with plays.

But its happening, and its been going on in publishing at least somewhat for years.
I've watched a couple of Center-lefty Women, who are both writers, discuss things from time to time. One has a job reviewing Young Adult fiction - regularly referred to as "YA."
One case she mentioned had a young authoress get a book published as her first effort, and it was expected to do great. But in pre-screening, one reviewer started attacking her for how she included a specific character.
This book of hers was a short novel, a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, involving people of another planet, with a few different races.
The critic was alone at first, with everyone else raving about the book. But the critic went hard and heavy, insisting that one character was "obviously" meant to be black. The same thing some critics have attacked D&D for: "treating the orcs so bad" since the orcs are "obviously" meant to be black.
The critic was pissed mainly because the young authoress was not black, so "could not write a black character."
After a while, more people agreed about this, and complaints went to the publisher. But not too much later, the young authoress called off the book, issued a public apology, and withdrew from any more public "anything."
The YA reviewer-host and her partner made the same points that make sense to us, and most of our generation - writers have created characters from situations they never experienced, from "the other" gender - heck, from far-past historical epochs, such that no-one today can truly know what people thought.
For us sci-fi fans, even more imagination has been in play! Probably very few sci-fi writers were really aliens.
Those two lady-hosts are both authors, and have discussed this idiotic "you cannot write for another race/culture/gender" idea. the idea of having to use a big team of writers is very clearly needed if one follows that nonsense.
Crazy - but it's been out there, going strong, for a few years, now. And it ain't dead yet!

And - you might not think of yourself as a Repub, Spud, but many of the working men and women in the US now feel right with us Repubs.
Both Parties have many schmucks in the ranks - but the first Party to split open and go to war with itself looses to the other.
Both have had internal battles, but over the one Trump Term Don won the base. That brought many of the political leaders over to us, as their well shared idea of leading is to figure out the right way to look and sound to get re-elected.
The Dems had no such leader to rally around, and the Corporate Dems crushed some of the Proggies, Coopted others, and ignores the rest.
They don't need voters as much as we do, the way they cheat in their elections.
That will hurt them badly - if we can work it so that they can't steal it the next time.
