Re: Navy Verifies UFO Videos -- For a change doesn't claim balloons

My point is this. Some day, someone may explain those videos. They will turn out to be an obscure optical phenomenon; or, they may turn out to be an actual secret project, but one that is more covert than compelling...some dirty trick the military was considering deploying in China that they mothballed because it was too expensive, unreliable or inefficient.

However, by the time those videos are explained new ones will crop up and the game will start over again. This will go on and on, but one thing will always be missing: space aliens and/or future tech. Nothing will ever come of any of it.

You know: fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice...

I'm pretty sure I've seen the original footage of that... Where they zoom into it several times, zoom up at the moon, etc..
And, I thought there was dog on shore going nuts in that direction. They mentioned the zoom lenses and camera equipment they had, etc..

Haven't seen it anywhere though.

Note: I always assume things like this are probably fake, by default.
But interesting anyway.

I am just trying to put it into words that you can accept. The reality is that strange, seemingly compelling things crop up all the time that people are never able to explain. The one thing nearly all of them have in common is that they never correlate with anything interesting.

On the other hand, the annoying things that people wish would go away or trivial things that are barely noticed when they happen are often associated with genuine miracles.

Bunch of word salad devoid of thought. Plus a silly video. Please remain on topic.

What does the phrase ‘real UFO’ mean?

Well, if we unpack the acronym it means “real unidentified flying object’.

It seems to me that there is a big difference between the phrase “unidentified flying objects exist” and what people like RedQ mean when they say “UFO’s exist”.

The former statement is an admission of ignorance. It simply states that sometimes an object is seen and/ or filmed flying around which we are unable to identify. We might guess at what it is. Perhaps this video footage is a master forgery using techniques so subtle even experts are fooled (experts are sometimes fooled by forgeries). Maybe it is an experimental military craft that is officially classified as ‘unidentified’ because, well, they would, wouldn’t they? Maybe its beings from outer space. We just don’t know.

In stark contrast to this confessed ignorance, people like Red claim to know precisely what UFOs are. They alien spaceships. It’s possible that they are but the evidence such as we have is nowhere near strong enough to say this is definitely the case, anymore than footage of a creaky house and some shape momentarily appearing on screen is definitive proof that ghosts exist, and not just more evidence of the human ability to jump to the wrong conclusion entirely.

“UFOs are beings from outer space” is such an extraordinarily claim that nothing less than a 9/11 type event would do to make this conclusive. I don’t mean it has to be some kind of ‘Independence Day’ type destruction, but it would have to involve the kind of documentation that 9/11 received, with thousands of people filming the spacecraft and its occupants on their phones and other devices, along with news teams who rush to the scene to capture this historic event, an event which is commented on by the leaders of the world who confirm that it is not fake and that aliens really have been seen flying around.

But we have nothing like this kind of concrete proof, just images and testimonials that are accepted as proof by true-believers and which honest skeptics shrug at and say “don’t know what that is”.

Lets say your speculation is correct red, that craft from another planet/dimension are choosing to play peek-a-boo. What are their motives? The most rational thing I can think of is they want to make contact but dont wont to cause panic by spectacularly revealing themselves by landing on the White House lawn. So instead tease the world, even deliberately make the "evidence" look unconvincing at first - but just soften up the masses. I think they could be waiting for humanity to scientifically confirm an exoplanet with an atmospheric signature for life, maybe even a civilization. Theyre waiting for humanity to become spiritually, psychologically and technologically enlightened enough to join The Federation of Planets.

Extropia, please refrain from putting words in my mouth and thoughts in my head.

"Real" UFO in the title to the Fox piece just means that this is the first time the U.S. Government has admitted it has 'aircraft' in our airspace that they can't identify. The Navy now calls them Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

So, we have a phenomena. What is it? I think many lines of evidence point to an advanced culture of which the public is unaware. Maybe most or all of the government, too (but I doubt it). The phenomena could be home-grown (some of it clearly is e.g. the TR-B3), extra-terrestrial or a combination of both.

It seems that we are creeping closer to disclosure.

Falken writes: "They're waiting for humanity to become spiritually, psychologically and technologically enlightened enough to join The Federation of Planets.". As near as I can tell, that the leading theory in the whole alternate/UFO community. Of course, they believe there are many races with a variety of motivations and goals, not all benign.

James and I discussed it on a thread not so long ago. My position is, if there are space aliens, they probably know each other, have a governing body like the UN, and enforce something like a Prime Directive of non-interference, with some loop holes, like avoiding mass destruction, and occasional revealing new science and technology that they deem us able to handle.

I noted the book CRYPTONOMICON above because a core theme is deception. The whole UFO thing is one deep, dark well of deception.
