THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

People don't like to be reminded that they are an infinitesimally small piece of meaningless !@#$ on an infinitesimally small and meaningless planet in the middle of an unimaginably large, black and lethal universe. So I'll try to cheer you up. Ho ho ho...

Re: THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Another way to look at it is that we're all incredibly lucky to be here at all. There was probably an infinite amount of time before now, and there will be an infinite amount of time after right now, but we're lucky enough to exist right here, right now.

Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.

Why, so we can not remember nothing forever?

Re: THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Somewhere between the Fermi paradox, the Boltzmann paradox and the fact that we have no idea what consciousness is, lies the proof that we really have no idea what is going on. Suffice it to say that I think James' cynicism is just the onset of some kind of midlife crisis.

Have a drink, watch the Greg Gutfeld show, and take another look at the world. Consider reading my essay on Faith.

So you can enjoy the time you're here, as long as it lasts.

Re: THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

I actually had my midlife crisis when I was about 26 and went back to school for the umpteenth time. That was after our family construction business failed and I went from one nothing job to another for about five years.

I went back to school, got a degree in math and, simultaneously, discovered the Singularity. Now, I am a young man anticipating the future. I look out across eternity in all its vastness and mystery.

It awaits us all!
