Spud has posted about a French expat Vlogger based in China, and he and I both watch Vlogs from the same South African Vlogger who may have been the first to be an expat YouTube Vlogger based in China.
That last one posted a while ago about a turn in the Chinese attitude in a new economic downturn era of today.
The guy is married to a Chinese wife, well integrated into their family and has been working out of her city for the whole decade.
That whole decade has been full of exploring and explaining regions and cities in China to an English speaking internet. And with welcoming Chinese everywhere he went.
The last Vlog I saw a little while ago surprised me a lot. It had him and his partner agreeing that they may have to leave China.
Times had changed, gotten harder, and a xenophobism they had not noted in their whole ten years had appeared and was getting more and more common. They dont see it getting better.
As times get harder there, the women will probably suffer more than the men, and the girls more than the boys. Thats one of the things that comes through about Chinese culture.

All I see in the news is how great Chinese are doing technically. However there is another Youtube voice that contradicts the glowing news items. I like this guy and his sarcasm.

I agree that Animes' vid was spot-on.
The thing with the guy in your vid - who I have enjoyed before - is similar to the problem for the little girls. Those that are the focus of Animes' vid.
The guy notes 81 million poor not being reported on or noted. Same-same with the massive screw-ups of the Commies that messed up, destroyed, and murdered so much and so many.
With the commies and a very partiarchial focus on boys over over girls, the problem for little girls is big.
The view from the elite sees the overbalance of young men because the idiotic "one child" policy meant patriarchal families of various status levels killing newborn infant girls and "trying again" until they got their boy.
The young women who are not up to being workers in the "new China" because of "backwards, subsistance lifestyle" upbringing will still be Chinese women.
They will still have a place in that "new China."
Western Civ Feminism is hunting the Patriarchy. Here ya go, ladies. Just hit Rosetta Stone and brush up on your Mandarin.
They see you as loved relatives, serving to support a wife or kids or grandkids. Or wombs-to-be, carrying on some family traditon for some other family.
