Re: It’s not a closet it’s a cage. Gay catholic priests speak out

So there are Protestant denominations that think that the Catholic Church by far the largest denomination is ruled by Satan. From the church lady on the old Saturday Nite live. ‘Well isn’t that special’

As I understand it the Catholic Church allowed Priests to marry for the first thousand years but they didn’t want to pay for the widows and children when the priests died so they instituted the celibacy. Requirement.

It is a brutal injunction. IMHO

It is and was a brutal injunction.

It was passed a a time that was more widely brutal than todays so much more gentile time.

My Catholic Church learned early how to be brutal. You can guess where from its' full name - the "Roman Catholic Church."

It grew into that from it's passively gentile start, far away from the first known Christian leader in Rome, a guy we Catholics call Saint Peter.

He was executed, as were many Christians off and on, until the Romans' approved them officially. Christianity then grew as one of several approved religions - and finally the one approved religion.

It was tightly bound from top to bottom to the autocratic led, brutal Empire for so long!

All that time, from Constantine and on, things kept getting worse and worse. All through "the dark ages" up to the growth of Euro and Brit kingdoms, and on to today. For most of that time, top Church leadership has been mingling as "one of the gang" of elites who are above "the commoners."

Priests worked at, and often came from the lowest level of society. Among the "scum," as those at that level of society were widely known by those "above them."

Way back then, when they passed this rule, all "Churchmen" could try to get away with secret lovers, Gay or Straight.

We know that back when this rule was passed, elite Churchmen who were sometimes called "Princes of the Church" had "unofficial families." We can imagine whispers about a given Churchman who was moving up quickly in the hierarchy: "Hmm - does he not look and otherwise kind-of remind you of Cardinal so-and-so?"

Todays secret "Church sex stuff" did not come from "thin air." It has been part of my Churches "off the books" evolution as an organization that has been evolving for over a thousand years.

For elite leaders who can afford to support several families "off the books" to dictate policies that destroy families, and preach how pure their intentions are was indeed cruel. Yet - does our Fed Gov not do something similar today?

It seems very similar for our Fed Gov to dictate orders that have shown to have the effect of destroying traditional family formation. It does this specifically to some young poor women. Teens in very many cases.

Since the 1960's, poor young women of all races - not just Blacks - who are recipients of a form of welfare in the form of a very low income and a bad free apartment have been warned: They can only have those things if they are unmarried, and also that no man lives with them who is not their husband.

I note that this is not just a policy for Blacks because the effect of this on family formation among poor Blacks in particular has been truly devastating.

Almost as if, like that past Catholic Church, someone had ordered: "Shoot for as few poor Black families as we can get. Try to max out on lots of very young Black Single Mothers with lots of kids."

Today, as though someone did it on purpose, while young Black girls are having lots of kids, "poor Black family" formation has plummeted.

It has dropped from the high 80's or low 90 percents from when they started the Civil Rights laws to a level in between 20 and 30 percent now. The relevant welfare-like laws continue on.
