Maybe that Oort Cloud I have heard of is actually your Dyson Sphere?
Possibly so. They may have figured out that it is easiest to camouflage their shielding equipment in the form of, or at least among, a cloud of orbiting debris.
Maybe their magic trick is even more subtle than I have described. There can be only a finite number installments in space that they wish to conceal. Maybe the orbiting field is a collection of visors that actively move between us and any object the outsiders do not want us to see. The arc that the visors follow would be much smaller than the arc of the thing they are blocking. The thing they are blocking could travel only as fast as light, so the visor blocking our view would have to move only a small distance at a slow speed to compensate.
The visors might be something like noise cancelling speakers, but they might be much simpler. I have no reason to believe that a Mylar "mirror" that cleverly reflects a similar part of empty space would not do the trick. I could be wrong, but I am not in the business of hiding universes. When a significant object moves through the space near our solar system, A mirror could simply move to stay between us and the object. The Oort cloud might contain a collection of mylar mirrors that are ready to expand and begin operation when they are called upon.
It would be ironic to learn that "dark matter" is actually the gravitational trace of alien installments that are effectively blocked from our view. Maybe we cannot see 85% of the matter in our universe because 85% of it has already been converted into outsider superstructures that they cleverly conceal with magician's tricks.

Re: Are we living inside a giant Dyson sphere? In theosophy and anthroposophy, the Akashic records are a compendium of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future. They are believed by theosophists to be encoded in a non-physical plane of existence known as the etheric plane.
