New Keyboard
My keyboard was kind of stiff and it seemed to fatigue my fingers, so I did a little research. I ended buying a iKBC CD108 PBT Full Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switches:
It was a lucky find. No one seems to sell the ones with the brown switches now.
I also got some of these rings:
Cherry MX Blue O-Rings
It makes all the difference in the world. My keyboard is easy to type on and quiet. It is a much better experience.

Re: New Keyboard
So, you are a techie as well.
You are now cemented in your roll as site-master forever!
Ah - ha ha ha ha! Gotcha!

Re: New Keyboard
That kind of stretches the meaning of "techie". I learn as much technology as necessary to do the things I need to do. For example, I had to learn more about connecting equipment together and using WiFi than I ever wanted to because I have ended up being my family's IT guy.
I just recently learned about mechanical and membrane keyboards and types of switches on keyboards by watching a YouTube video. That was only because I was dissatisfied with my keyboard and had to investigate these things to solve my problem.
I am a naturally inert person and only learn difficult things when they stand between me and some critical objective.

Re: New Keyboard
Oh, Spike. I wish you had asked about this before buying. Here's the real deal
Logitech K350 Wireless 2.4 GHz Keyboard
I sit in my recliner before a couple big screens and surf the world. Plus work.

Re: New Keyboard
I have tried those and they just don't work for me.
I basically grew up here...
...and I will never get far from home.

Re: New Keyboard
You're a Hobbit, Spike. Plus, your example of a space age keyboard is straight out of the Jetsons! :)
P.S. Your fix for emojois works!! What a blessing.

Re: New Keyboard
Ahhh...the Jetsons...a mother and father at home, a son who likes scouting and a daughter who dates boys. Those were the days!
Maybe your "nontraditional" keyboard was the nudge that pushed society over the edge!
I actually think that with modern electronics the replacement for the QWERTY keyboard should be something that is held in each hand and has exactly one pressure switch under each finger. Characters are entered by pressing combinations of switches so that the fingers never need to be lifted.
However, I suspect that before we develop any really novel methods of data entry and implement all the retraining we will move completely to thought control. All of our years of honed typing skill will become obsolete.
