Pres Trump keeps Promise to Pursue the Hiring of Illegal Aliens by Companies

Among former VP & Dem Sen Joe Bidens' Gag Reel moments, we find... "Joe Biden, captured on C-SPAN's "Road to the White House" series, trying to bond with an Indian-American supporter" (explained a Biden staffer, tap dancing mightily): "You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."

ICE is following thru on Pres Trumps promise to pursue the hiring of illegal aliens by companies. Perhaps taking its cue from Biden, they are starting at your local 7-11:

"Immigration agents raid dozens of 7-Eleven stores"

"Agents targeted about 100 stores nationwide, broadening an investigation that began with a 4-year-old case against a franchisee on New York's Long Island. The audits could lead to criminal charges or fines over the stores' hiring practices.

The action appears to open a new front in Trump's sharp expansion of immigration enforcement, which has already brought a 40 percent increase in deportation arrests and plans to spend billions of dollars on a border wall with Mexico. Hardliners have been pressing for a tougher stance on employers.

Derek Benner, a top official at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told The Associated Press that Wednesday's operation was "the first of many" and "a harbinger of what's to come" for employers. He said there would be more employment audits and investigations, though there is no numerical goal."

Re: Pres Trump keeps Promise to Pursue the Hiring of Illegal Aliens by Companies

I was listening to NPR about Tyson's food, which probably has hired many illegal aliens. They say their hands are tied - if a person shows you what looks to be a valid ID, you can't just arbitrarily dig deeper or ask for more documents to make sure it's not fake. It would be discrimination to force them to provide more documentation just because they're dark skinned.

The only real solution is a traceable national ID card, but the Repubs don't want that either.

Keep in mind, if they have an ID, they are paying taxes, including Social Security taxes (it's auto-deducted from their pay). But if they're illegal, they avoid using any social services so they don't get noticed and get deported. So they're actually helping our government's bottom line.

They are working or living on some kind of State or Fed welfare. If working, the alien is replacing a US worker.

There is an overall cost attached to the illegal aliens by far overall. From - https://fairus.org/issue/workforce-economy/cost-immigration

"Our 2017 estimate that illegal immigration is costing US taxpayers $116 billion per year may be found in our publication The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers.

Most immigrants are poor; indeed, that is why they come here. Through present immigration policy, we are admitting over one million mostly poor people into our society every year —a society that is already challenged to deal with the poverty of its natives."

To have fake ID they have to buy or steal someone's SSN.

They routinely get food stamp cards, and free school for the kids, and any kids they have here become auto-citizens with all the rights and bennies.

ER's and Schools in various areas have been full of illegal aliens for years.

From - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/how-undocumented-immigrants-sometimes-receive-medicaid-treatment

"part of the state-federal health insurance program for the poor pays about $2 billion a year for emergency treatment for a group of patients who, according to hospitals, mostly comprise illegal immigrants. Most of it goes to reimburse hospitals for delivering babies for women who show up in their emergency rooms, according to interviews with hospital officials and studies."

"Nearly one-third of Bethesda Hospital East’s 2,900 births each year are paid for by Emergency Medicaid, the category that covers mainly illegal immigrants."

A fed program to have employers verify citizenship of new enployees was made law many years ago. For Fed contractors and regular employers of all sizes. It was never strongly enforced because this is the first Pres to really mean what he promised.

From - https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtools/tools-and-samples/toolkits/pages/complying-with-i9-and-everify-requirements-in-the-united-states.aspx

This describes the measly little bit that employers do, just fill a form and file it away.

"The foundational federal law is the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986. IRCA requires all U.S. employers, regardless of size, to complete a Form I-9 upon hiring a new employee to work in the United States. Reverification of eligibility for employment in the United States may also be required under certain circumstances. The task of properly completing I-9 forms is, in most cases, a simple matter of carefully reading and following the detailed written instructions. However, in some situations it is helpful to seek guidance beyond the written instructions for the Form I-9."

"The federal government uses E-Verify to enhance enforcement of federal immigration law. E-Verify is mandatory for federal contractors with contracts containing the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) E-Verify clause, and some states require the use of E-verify for employers. Other employers may choose to use E-Verify voluntarily to supplement Form I-9 and ensure employment eligibility."
