Re: Taking the Red Pill and Walking Away Also - Red and Spud, you nailed two guys who in their way are like Kanye Tweeting about Pres Trump.
The Gay guy had famously huge responses. The black guy using the walk away hashtag the Gay guy developed along with his thesis about walking away from libboality is your classic thought leader.
He thunk it, he followed his own lead, and others follow him.
He thunk good!
This article about it describes an impressive movement growing that the Dems should add to their list of reasons to "scream at the sky" -
Re: Taking the Red Pill and Walking Away Wow, anecdotes! I could point out all the prominent Republicans that have renounced the party since Trump was elected, but then you'd probably think that I was trying to say that the Republicans are worse than the Democrats or something. Instead I'll just say that you're doing yourself a disservice by relying on anecdotes to build your worldview.

--- Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.
Any "I used to be X and now I'm not!" is an anecdote. It is incredibly easy to take a few such anecdotes, collect them on a website and then claim that they are "viral" and represent a "growing movement". You could do it with almost anything, whether or not it is actually representative of a larger group. It is a way for people with an agenda to manipulate their audience into believing a false or misleading narrative.

Re: Taking the Red Pill and Walking Away Not one word from these two as to where to go when they walk away? It all seems like a lot of doublespeak, accuse the out of power party of all the bad stuff to hold on to power. Hitler had photo books holding babies in a crowd and lounging with his German Shepard’s at Bundas Garden. Pictures of pretty blond young men, women and children abounded. The backs of cigarettes contained stamps of the warrior heritage of Nazis going back to the Crusades. People filled their stamp books with these images. There were Jews who saved their lives by ushering in an orderly fashion other Jews into the showers and ovens. Do you think they can’t find a few spokespeople to attempt to destroy any possible oppositions? We should ALL vote Democrat just to PROVE that isn’t the case!
Noting these videos are evidence of a growing "walk away" movement is not the use of anecdotal evidence in making that point.
When you or I dictate our reasons for following action "x," and document it with a video, we are offering durable public testimony. Obviously, that description fits these "walk away" videos.
To use that as evidence of a growing movement when they all, every one, note that the blind acceptance of the current Dem acceptance of bullying and public violence at rallys is simply not acceptable to them, so they are walking away - as long as you are simply counting the number of videos and that they are all saying this, you are not using anecdotes.
You are honestly offering an accurate count and account of the content of the mass of testimony.
So - is "walk away" viral?
Most links I got from searching with that short question that said yes were from consrvo sites celebrating it as I do.
Thats sound reasoning from a sturdy lefty paper, now owned by Bezos of Amazon. They say "ah, what is it go viral anyway? Who can say if anything is viral?" Yes, professor. "Viral is not a thing." Check!
That take on this, and your lack of accepting this movement being in any way an important indicator of problems in the Dem party is encouraging to me.
Your intelligence is clear, and I'm sure that WaPo writer is intelligent as well. If the two of you see this as a blip or some other way unimportant, than perhaps so will the Dem leadership.
