OK, now it makes sense.

Is this as dramatic an improvement as it appears to be? Tripling the energy density of lithium batteries is about what it would take to do exactly what you say in your OP.

I think of it as never perfect, but robust enough to make money for the battery makers. If it holds up for cost safety and recharging, your next car will be electric or electric hybrid, and your next home repair man will be made of metal and plastic.
