And often drone operators are "so quiet."
The drones aren't magic, but if they can identify the people in a crowd that are being violent then it could defuse all sorts of dangerous situations. At the very least, it would assist the police in identifying the instigators after the fact.
Real time drone surveillance is coming to a city near you. Drones are the future, and that future is networks of drones giving real time coverage of entire cities, with data about the movement of individuals stored indefinitely. An Orwellian nightmare on one hand, but on the other hand it is an opportunity to drastically assist the police in preventing and investigating crime.
