 Emergency Administrative Action in Accordance With RFMo 14
On February 17, 2021 I closed and hid a thread commemorating the death of Rush Limbaugh. There was too much vitriol expressed within the day that he actually died about someone who many Americans revere. We do not do that kind of thing on this forum.

I created a new thread that is a simple commemoration of Rush Limbaugh. That thread is sticky and locked. I will eliminate that thread, add its substance to the original thread and reopen the original thread tomorrow.

For what it's worth, I disagree with this action and I find you stickying a locked thread commemorating his death to be an abuse of your power. You may revere the man, but he celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his radio show and just as many people loath him as revere him. You're putting your finger on the scales here because you like the guy.
Rule 14 says:

None of these criteria are met.

I consider it deliberate damage to the forum.
I realize that I have made somewhat liberal use of that clause of late. It was necessary to prevent the things Red was doing, but it appears also to be necessary in other circumstances. Like the framers of the constitution, I realized when I wrote the rules that I might have to do this sort of thing from time to time, which is why I added that somewhat ambiguous clause.
You are welcome to say anything you like in this thread and I will restore the original thread and eliminate the sticky tomorrow. You can tear into Rush Limbaugh soon after I get out of bed around 9:00 am PST.

Literally the only reason I was willing to put up with this forum was that you were relatively even handed about your administration. Now you're putting your fingers on the scales. I'm a pretty black and white person when it comes to folks abusing their power.
I'm willing to put up with a lot, but my red line is abuse of power by an administrator. I simply won't stand for it. If you don't reverse your actions then you're telling me that you've given up on what this forum was supposed to be. You will prove me right when I said that a forum administrated by you would be a terrible idea.

What does that have to do with you censoring discussion here and now? We don't have a rule that says you're not allowed to speak ill of the dead on the day of their passing, and you've unilaterally invented one out of thin air.
Criticizing a dead person isn't even remotely an intentional attack on the forum, and you know that. I genuinely, 100% will not participate in a forum where the administration decides to prevent criticism of a conservative radio host who himself celebrated the deaths of AIDS patients on his show. If that is what you're going to break the rules for then there is literally no way I'll continue participating.
It's not a threat, just a fact. I'll change my email address and password randomly and delete the bookmarks. Abuse of power is a thing for me, and abuse of power to protect someone as loathsome as Rush Limbaugh is so far past the red line that you can't even see it anymore in the rear view mirror.

If you look closely, you will note that I censored Doc's statement.
It is a principle of our civilization that revered figures are not criticized on the day of their death. I have consistently upheld that principle. I will continue to do so.
You do have the option of having me replaced as forum administrator:
