Yes, another Smoking Gun article had a younger feisty "gal with nothing to loose" who hid a smaller gun yet in her similar "holster."
Your bleach idea is what the owner said when asked for comment about where they found his gun.

The little tiny revolvers shown in the other articles seem plausible. This one is a stretch. There must be a science to putting really large guns in one's compartment.

It just occured to me. They have actually caught three of them...that we have heard of. There must be thousands of women out there running around with guns in their business. Maybe it is a trend? Maybe they talk about it in Vogue...no...Cosmopolitan.

I dont see these lassies leafing through Cosmo while sipping Chardonnay.
Each and every one may have been idly flipping through one of several gun mags in someones home they were visiting, and noted a "ladies section" with smaller pistols.
All that "anti-gun" blather is sometimes just blather. Yes, lots of peeps get worked up about it, and for some it sinks in and they have a strong personal aversion to guns.
But the 21st Century US PC hasn't quite seeped evenly down through all the layers of SES in the US.
With guns, once they think about it, some women will be able to appreciate the incredible difference a gun can make in equalizing the one-on-one power dynamic between her and some potential dude.
This particular sort of lassie may well be prone to encounter dudes regularly who can be a bit "too macho," too often.
If it sinks in that she can equalize, or even flip that dynamic to her being "the boss"...
One day, while idly speculating with some gal pals about fun to be had with different fruits and gourds, one of them broaches the subject of hammer-less, smooth edged pistols. If you work it in slow...
