Well lets see what happens. Im enthusiastic about mars and moon, lets see what happens with AI - my prediction is deep learning will produce some weird superintellegence that is amazing at some things but a dummy at mundane tasks - woz's coffee problem. No singularity this decade.
The neuralink tech is intreging though there appears to be skepticism from neurologists that its impossible nonsense.
But hey. Tech is only going to improve. Chances are the defining tech of the decade will be a suprise. Lets Go!

I suspect that we will enter a stage like that but pass through it very quickly. That kind of intelligence will be used as a tool to ascertain what is required for general intelligence.
Suppose, for example, we have a narrowly focused intelligence equipped with a brain scanner. The intelligence is used to determine in what way our general intelligence differs from narrowly focused intelligence. The setup quickly determines the difference, and we are on our way.
That is merely an analogue of how narrowly focused intelligence may get us to the next stage. The actual process will probably be more dynamic.

Yes, I really expect things to pick up. We will see some things that are genuinely alarming. Welcoming our "computer overlords" will not be quite the same joke.
