Re: Pencil Neck refuses to let Stefanik question witness

Personally, I only asked the question, since the article didn't provide any context, and there seemed to be disagreement over the rule they were following, without them restating the (House) rules in the clip. (regarding the woman being able to ask questions)

(and I couldn't go googling for an answer)

They should simply be rid of as many of the 27-B(stroke)-6 rules as they can.

Thanks for the clarification.

A factoid to add to your impressive fact pile.

Neither did the Democrats! Between the 3 committees there are 58 Democrats authorized to question witnesses, and 47 Republicans that have that same authority.

Some of those Republicans were even in on the illegal storming of the SCIF, when they had that questioning authority all along, but were more interested in making a reality TV scene instead of doing their jobs properly.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why is it that not one of the Republican officeholders objecting to Biden's victory have objected to their own wins on the same day on the same ballots using the same election systems??!

Just remember folkies, just as Hillary won the nat vote, so did Bob Dole in 1996. Congress has no obligation to vote their districts wishes. They could write in Atilla the Hun, if he paid em' enough $$$.

For me? It's Orange Dude all the way, because nobody on the other side and no rino's consider themselves Americans.

Really? Is this more GOP Alternate History that you are trying to foist upon us?

The 1996 vote count was:
Bill Clinton - 47,401,185 votes - 49.2%
Bob Dole - 39,197,469 - 40.7%

According to my math, it appears that Clinton received 8,203,716 more votes than Dole.

Tomb,

Ya mistaken, my friend:

I noted that it was your crew that decided to hold the hearings in a secret bunker. Not ours, ever.

You missed that in your reply-post, and simply posted some facts about how both Parties can ask questions.

Right - in the Secret Bunker. Which the Repubs in the past never did.

And which lets Schiff keep all things out of the Press except what he leaks or selectively releases.

And no witness called that he dunna approve.

These are not things done by the Repubs.

These be your teams rules. Ya'll own this mess.

Well, our private hearing was much more constructive than the public hearing. I mean, public hearings are a circus, Margaret, I mean, that’s why I don’t like to do them. I don’t do many of them. I mean, it’s a freak show. I mean, the private interviews are much more constructive.

Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.

Lucid,

Not just Trey, but many folks for a long time have thought that you get much more done beind closed doors than in public.

That's a very old "truism."

Not always true, but so true so often that it gets that title at least in quotes.

Yet, for imepeachment? Not the SCIF.

And not any of the impeachment hearings held with the dominant House party, when it was Repuubs, doing it unilaterally. To get Dem buy-in, as well as Dem and Undecided voter buy-in, they gave President Clinton lots of priviliges in the hearings. The Dems in Congress separately got such.

To pretend that the Dems are following those traditions, and thus doing this SCIF stuff and other stuff the same way is like the "dingy dossier."

Lots of mundane true stuff, and all of the scandalously nasty stuff was BS.

Now as then, you can point to some thing that is as the Repubs did it. The big stuff the Dems are shoving through?

That's all you guys, Lucid,

Private interviews are effective, and an impeachment investigation should use effective practices.

That logic will look interesting when the House is R and the President is D.

Just as Senatorial Judicial nominations are humming through, thanks to the Dem Senate Majority Leader decision to "kill the Filibuster" for such nominations.

Don't think ahead - it confuses the issue. Go for it! Follow the logic that appeals most, and dam* the torpedoes!
