Senator Grassley says the whistleblower identity must be protected
Grassley is loyal to Trump but he does not want to violate Whistleblower protocol.
He won’t be pushed around on this and Trump would be wise to leave him alone on this.

Frankly, who cares about the whistleleaker. He had only secondhand information that turned out to be false. The Trump administration should just ignore this latest witch-hunt. Give them nothing and let it go to court.

What part "turned out" to be false?
--- Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.

All of it, except in the sense of a stopped clock. That is the nature of rumors.

So all of it is false except for the parts that are true? And you can't give me any specifics about the parts that are false?
Sounds to me like you're just sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending like anything damaging about Trump is "fake news".
Public testimonies are supposed to start next week. It should be illuminating.

I can't state with absolute certainty that any part of it is true or false. All I know for sure is that it hasn't "turned out to be false", because that would require actual evidence that disproves the claims. Instead, to the contrary, we've seen transcripts and witness testimonies that in fact support the claims of the original whistleblower.
I agree with you though that the whistleblower doesn't matter anymore, because they did their duty and exposed what they perceived as wrongdoing. Now it is being investigated.

Re: Senator Grassley says the whistleblower identity must be protected
The 'whistleblower' isn't a whistlblower, he's a partisan leaker.
It was false that Trump spoke Biden name 6 times in the telephone conversation.
It is false that he demanded the investigation of Biden in return for arms.
It is false that the leaker had any information except that there was a phone call.
We have the transcript of the phone call. There is nothing wrong with the conversation.
We know Biden was monetizing his office through his son.
I could go on.

Re: Senator Grassley says the whistleblower identity must be protected
Lucid,
To perk up your curiosity enough to have you check into this stuff more, olease take a quick minute to read this account:
Schiff read a false version of the phone call into the Congressional Record, claiming that the false version he read was a good, reliable version of the phone-call.
It was so off, that for a few days social media had fun with him about it, and enough of that to have some TV anchors chuckle about it, or be upset about lies being read into the record.
Schiff reacted to being so quickly exposed for lying that he changed his story about his version being very accurate.
He changed that to claiming that he was doing a parody-reading! Off course, most of the media spun that such that you may well be unaware of this.
You may also be unaware that his "parody" reading was, if fact, faithful to something. It was faithful to the "Whistleblower 1" version of the transcript.
Which is so off, that it got all that ribbing on the Net, and got Schiff to back away from claiming it was true.
That's the "reality" you're defending, my friend.
