Re: Paul Ryan’s legacy is not good. Washington Post
FaceBook free: Opinion-Paul Ryan’s pathetic legacy by "Red Max" Boot
From the Pathetic article:
quote: For someone reputed to be a deep, long-range thinker, outgoing House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) showed a surprising lack of foresight in his handling of President Trump.
Imagine what will happen if special counsel Robert S. Mueller III concludes that Trump’s campaign knowingly colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 election and that Trump obstructed justice in an attempt to bury the evidence. That outcome is by no means certain, but it is certainly possible — and, when it comes to a finding of obstruction, probable. How will a Democrat-controlled House react? Because that prospect, too, seems increasingly likely with every Republican retirement — including now Ryan’s own.
If Mueller delivers the goods (and maybe even if he doesn’t), a Democrat-dominated House would likely begin impeachment proceedings on, oh say, Jan. 21, 2019 — and it wouldn’t take long to pass the articles of impeachment because in the House the minority can’t block action.
A vote for the Dem's is a vote for the political theather of impeaching (but not convicting) Trump.
Silly article detached from reality describing Red Max's most cherished dreams.

Re: Paul Ryan’s legacy is not good. Washington Post
Red,
Max Boot! That Germanic name and - pre-Trump - his conservo articles were enjoyed by me.
Not as some kind of fan, and I dont remember any of his articles.
But I had him as a good name to read if I saw it. Sad for me to see him and the whole Nat Review mag go, and others of course as well.
The idea of his to have faith in Muelly, and that obstruction idea!
Dershowitz has some time before this refuted this point more than once as an expert Constitutional law guest on a chat show.
Dersh points out that obstruction will not pass the snuff test at pre-trial.
The accusation of obstruction says that Pres Trump attempted to obstruct Comeys' investigation of Gen Flynn by suggesting to Comey that he close the FBI investigation of Gen Flynn.
Dersh explains that Pres Trump has the explicit authority to order the FBI to close any investigation that he wants to.
To do anything like that, anything within this range, from zero (no action) to full-on (an order to stop), the Pres is within his authority.
That "hint" of his to Comey which is supposed to be obstruction is within this "kosher" range.
Thus - AOK. Not "suspect."

I would say this to Rich. Do you like it when Democrats take bribes from billionaires? We don't either.

Re: Paul Ryan’s legacy is not good. Washington Post
Paul Ryan's only accomplishment as Speaker is a tax cut for the rich that is only going to hurt the GOP in the midterms and get overturned as soon as the Democrats regain control.

Re: Paul Ryan’s legacy is not good. Washington Post
Yes, lucid, the tax cuts went out, and various interviews have shown that many people appreciate their lower taxes.
Many also appreciate the business pick-up and more jobs, now.
Also, Pres Trump got a change in the Tax bill that Ryan and other conservo's didnt want - he left the largest level of taxes - the richest of us - barely changed, so that it would be blatantly obvious that they got less of a break than those poorer did.
But of course you guys will spin it that it was all for the rich. Thats why Pres Trump made them reduce the break that richest of us would get.
Still, all of who have followed politics for a long time know that dishonest spinning will be done. So yes, that word of how "it is just for the rich" will go out.
The campaigning will run, and we will see!

Not hard to spin when it clearly benefits the rich and large corporations far more than everyone else. You keep forgetting the cut to pass-through LLCs, which massively and disproportionately benefits the very rich.

Pretty big accomplishment, Lucid. It transformed the American tax system nearer to a Noridic model, which will benefit everyone. The Dem's socialist model is history.

Re: Paul Ryan’s legacy is not good. Washington Post
Consider a dreamed of Dem win by Lucid's party, midterm. Consider that if in 2019 or really pre-election, the Reps say the Dems will take away your tax cuts, dem blood will flow in the streets, because people will kill for money. If Feb and March 2019 the cash comes to the Middle Class, and not just billionaires, then, indeed, all the Don has to say is, get em boys (and girls).
