Re: anti-drone counter measures
Anticipate very heavily shielded ground hugging vehicles, as some drones will be like our current Predators.
We can make them almost unhackable, and able to destroy any tank or other current armored rolling thing.
The heavily armored version would be accompanied by a more hard hitting shooter that has a more limited number of shots, that would go for those flying killers.
Like today, whoever gains control over the air and keeps it, wins the combined-arms battle on the ground.
The ground would be the domain of various crawlers and rollers, and dead human fighters. Sorry to break it to ya, John Connor.

Re: anti-drone counter measures
China is reving these up and we shall see what we shall see. Question, drones-aside, what will all these importers of Chinese goods do, IF the Party starts a war?

Re: anti-drone counter measures
Spud,
Some who are dependent on ChiCom products, will know right down to the center of their being the meaning of the phrase "creative destruction."
Others will import from elsewhere, as was already happening. They were exploring other, poorer Asian countries, many of whom are eager for any investment.
They were looking because ChiCom cheap labor is disappearing. Becoming more expensive. And China has various "issues" - chancy food, theft of proprietary branding and tech secrets among them.
Yet others will make some stuff here. More and more since he became Pres-Elect, Pres Trump has "jawboned" various CEO's to changing plans and instead building here.
But how to replace the "cheap foreign labor" factor our investors enjoy from producing overseas?
We are already building more automated factories, along with updated logistics concepts.
Foxconn, the Taiwanese company that subcontracted in the immediate past to ChiCom China to make Apple products, a short while ago relocated lots of manufacturing to a very highly automated factory in Taiwan.
It gets social credit for "building at home," and highly skilled tech workers are available and many fewer workers overall are needed.
That was some short while ago. The most modern, up to date, automated factory tech, like most, has probably been moving along nicely.
The auto-trucks we read about - when the auto-cars aren't running bicyclists down - are part of the scenario, once they are fine tuned.
