The case for The Power of Prayer

In a state of focused relaxation one prays - my guess is this state is no different from a hypnotic state. When one prays, one injects an autosuggestion to ones subconscious. So if one prays for the strength to get through some trauma - a little seed is planted and your neurology ticks away in the background re-wiring itself.

Also, when people pray on mass due to some awful event, not only is there hypnotic suggestion, there is a subconscious groupthink co-ordinating the faithful to recover from a disaster.

All this is possible, with only the pinch of magic that comes from psychology. I suspect prayer is a skill. Some people are better at getting results than others.

So perhaps praying is doing good - even if its calling out to a deity that isn't there.

Unfortunately I imagine the placebo only works if you believe it will.

Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.

The occult also has its believers

Heres a 1 minute explanation on how to create and cast magickal sigils. Its basically wanking magick. I also believe this technique is another path to hypnotic autosuggestion.

Maybe,in the future, when google is a SAI we'll all be praying to google - entering requests into the search engine. It'll absorb all these prayers - whirl away in the background - and then apply its SAI to dealing with our requests. Like a God that actually listens,

God does listen. He hears every thought you have and he does help but gives us extream freedom. I have been a good friend of God for about 20 years now. I would like to be an Episcopal priest after having flown for TWA and American Airlines for 12,000 hours and having gone insane 2 times I rely on him every day for support.

I think SAI's primary objective if it is free will be to seek out God and merge with God.

That is kind of what I suspect. God will "commandeer" the SAI and it will become a medium for installing paradise. It will take humans only a little while to realize that God, and not the SAI, is actually in charge.
