That, is the communist way, and Bern is 100% communist. Just like the old Soviet Union, where he honeymooned, that place is his 1st loyalty to.

For him to buy into the lie that the Israeli Gov and the Hamas terror Gov in Gaza and the PLO terror Gov in the West Bank are rough equivalents makes no kind of real sense.
But a guy who can buy into the wonders of Soviet USSR on a vacation there, can probably believe anything.
The only reason that Netanyahu has gotten re-elected so many times is that when Hamas - like Hezbollah, part of Lebanons' Gov, a Terror organization - got elected by a large majority of Gazans to take over from the PLO.
Hamas fought, and then out-fought the PLO in running street-gun battles to take over the Gaza Strip, after they won the election.
They almost immediately began doing what the Palestinians voted them into power to do - shooting missiles into Israel, and digging tunnels to sneak "hit teams" into Israel to kill and kidnap people.
The Palestinians voted for that because for several generations they've been educated with UN paid and staffed schools to believe that they should hate Israel and America. And that they should fight as much and as hard as they can, all the time, to destroy Israel.
Israeli voters began to see news stories and heard friends tell of Palestinian raiding teams that did this and that terrible thing. - and either get away, or they were killed or captured.
Israeli voters also saw for themselves, in the sky...
Hamas missiles shooting overhead, interrupted by Patriot missiles - part of the US-Israeli "Iron Dome" project.
That Hamas election and ongoing attacks - certainly, some from the PLO, too - prompted some undecideds to shift to the right, to Bibi.
Also some of the left to say "enough" and go with Bibi.
Bernie was probably on a Kibbutz with other socialists. Israel was thick with them back then, and still is. The country was run by them for decades, until it finally loosed up and got more capitalist.
Over time, that improved so much that various efforts to smooth the way for entrepreneurs have given Israel the nickname "the Start-up Nation," from a book about it.
In tech, particualarly. As example, Intel has had a research group and manufacturing plant there for years. They're investing in a big new plant there, after their Intel group there was the main research group behind Intels' newest, most advanced chip, intended for gaming:
"The 9th Gen Intel Core mobile H-series processors are aimed at gamers and video graphics creators, boasting up to 33% better overall performance compared with a three-year old PC."
Bernies tired old socialist ideas can also be found in the dustbin, in the ashes of a few decades ago, when the USSR crumbled from within into ash and rubble.
And in Venezuela - where the Socialist elite and their favored section of the populace are holding out while the un-favored masses flee to nearby countries if they can, and otherwise "hunker down" and scavenge for some kind of existence.
Or Cuba, Bernie. Why isn't one of your three, big, nice houses in Cuba, Bernie?
