Re: Global Warming is Here!!

Doc, do you really think that info is being hidden from you?

I could care less about migrants flooding certain areas of the globe, as their usual zones of habitation become inhospitable.

You who carry on as if there is nothing to worry about, whilst also being !@#$ scared of foreigners flooding into your country, have the problem of adapting.

I could care less that you whites in the USA will soon be a minority. https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2016/02/26/when-will-minorities-majority/9v5m1Jj8hdGcXvpXtbQT5I/story.html How do you feel about it?

So, hey, don't worry, it's just all bad science and BS, by those libs or whoever you think are trying to BS you and it will never happen...

PS, there's still prime beachfront property I want to sell you in Miami... http://www.kurzweilai.net/forums/topic/off-topic-politics/page/70#post-781794

Wayne,

"...do you really think that info is being hidden..."

OK, "Hidden Figures" - here's one:

"Penn State climate scientist, Michael ‘hockey stick’ Mann commits contempt of court in the ‘climate science trial of the century.’ Prominent alarmist shockingly defies judge and refuses to surrender data for open court examination. Only possible outcome: Mann’s humiliation, defeat and likely criminal investigation in the U.S."

Thats "heroic Climate Scientist Mike "Hockey Stick" Mann" keeping it allll under wraps.

From - https://principia-scientific.org/breaking-fatal-courtroom-act-ruins-michael-hockey-stick-mann/

Being White Racists and scared of Migrants:

Regardless of ones race, one may find as you do in NZ, that you first as Maori become outnumbered by Whites, then as either of those races, become outnumbered by Asiatics.

Stuff happens. Cry and wipe your eyes and carry on, or just carry on, what?

For us in the US, many of us were brought up without any racial animosity. The newer anger of today is different than the more regional racism of yesterday. Neither then or now is it universal to all of any race, as far as anyone has shown.

And acceptance of migrants is surely the decision of each nation.

Doc,

the "hockey stick Mann" does not prove that global warming is not happening.

Erm, I am a white South African, that used to yank your your chain at KAI, when there were posts that tried really hard to disguise the innate racism projected towards "others". I'm pretty sure you remember my first post regarding the matter, that showed blacks to actually have a higher IQ than whites. In case you forgot, since you seem to fall back on that memory issue, here is the link again.

Yes, each nation will decide regarding immigrants.

Wayne,

So, by not saying accurately where you were from you "yanked my chain?" OK.

And the complaints about NZ were chain yanking? OK. Giving you credit for being able to type, I take your statement about being in SA to be true.

Since you like the way things are going now, congratulations.

Doc, you are from the USA. Don't waffle regarding where I am from.

No mystery.

No, I did not yank your chain, due to you waffling about me being from NZ.

I'm from SA. It's true...

Thx for the congrats...I do like the way things are going now.

Hey Wayne, you just got off the bubble. Don't be an arse.

P.S. catastrophic anthropogenic global warming is a farce intended to permanently harm little children's minds.

Ok, I won't be an arse.

It may not be catastrophic, for those unaffected by it.

A nice film, about the man that helped us see into the past:

Ice and the Sky 2015, At 1:12:30 Claude Lorius - "...Four cycles of glaciation, taking shape in identical forms, testifying to variations in temperature and sea level, plus levels of carbon-dioxide and methane in the atmosphere. I had before me indusputable proof that climate and concentration of greenhouse gases have always been closely linked.

The Vostock graphs showed temperature variations on Earth of up to 5 degrees Celcius between it's naturally occuring warm and cold periods. Also that sea levels varied by up to 120 metres depending on whether water is frozen in icecaps or free in it's liquid form.

..."

Just the natural variations are catastrophic, but not for those unaffected by it.

As for anthropogenic, since the mid 1900's, I side with the people that consider it clear/more than likely. https://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

I agree with it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century

Just one example, methane, proves anthropogenic global warming.

The Volstok ice cores clearly show that Co2 lags temperature.

The Obama Sec of Energy said that if anyone in the department doubted global warming they won't talk about it or they'd be fired. Good way to insure group think. Same for Universities and being able to publish. The whole scam is a monstrous intellectual crime.

Co2 has increased about 100 ppm due to human activity, from a baseline of about 274 to 375-400 ppm. Just in time! At 274 ppm plants are suffering; somewhere below 200 they die.

As to global warming, most of Co2's effect occurs below 40 ppm. The scientific term is 'saturation' and Co2 is essentially saturated in terms of its global warming impact at 274 or 374 ppm. No significant additional heating effect above those levels.

Plants love 1000 ppm Co2 and more, and humans have no problem with that. Doc discussed human tolerance of Co2 and it apparently goes much higher (I can't find the link -- help?).

Methane is a more powerful greenhouse gas than Co2, but it has a short residence time in the atmosphere, and hence doesn't build up and pose any sort of threat.

Yes, Co2 is not the best greenhouse to use for indicating global warming, even if there is proof of antropogenic influence. I agree that using it, is a scam.

Here is the link you are thinking of. http://bescapevelocity.runboard.com/t430

Methane does pose a problem over time.

https://www.google.com/search?q=methane+persists+in+the+atmosphere+for

Here is a summary, from just one of the sites linked to, in the above search link.

"...

While CO2 persists in the atmosphere for centuries, or even millennia, methane warms the planet on steroids for a decade or two before decaying to CO2.

In those short decades, methane warms the planet by 86 times as much as CO2, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

But policymakers typically ignore methane's warming potential over 20 years (GWP20) when assembling a nation's emissions inventory. Instead, they stretch out methane's warming impacts over a century, which makes the gas appear more benign than it is, experts said. The 100-year warming potential (GWP100) of methane is 34, according to the IPCC.

There is no scientific reason to prefer a 100-year time horizon over a 20-year time horizon; the choice of GWP100 is simply a matter of convention.

The 100-year GWP value underestimates the gas's negative impacts by almost five times, said Ilissa Ocko, a climate scientist at the nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund. The quick warming in the short run catalyzed by methane can affect environmental processes, such as the flowering of plants, she said at the American Geophysical Union meeting last week.

"The short-lived climate pollutants [like methane] that we emit from human activities are basically controlling how fast the warming occurs," she said. "This is because they are very powerful at absorbing radiation."

...

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-bad-of-a-greenhouse-gas-is-methane/ "

Also, the warming and related issues speed up, as more gases like methane are released, due to melting of permafrost.

Higher temperatures mean more water vapor. That means more heating.

Every bit humans contribute counts towards more global warming. We certainly are contributing towards global warming.

What sticks in my mind, is the 5 degrees Celsius mentioned by Claude Lorius as the seesaw effect over long periods. We are now in a warm period and even Shell is expecting still another 5-6 degrees Celsius increase...in a very short period.

Here's a video I posted over at KAI. Basically, even if we started doing everything needed to reduce the human impact today, to zero, it's already too late.

Due to humans? No. The UN Committee doesn't see that much increase, but of course, there models are nonsensical.

The Arctic isn't warming that much. Just off the presses:

Delingpole: NOAA Caught Lying About Arctic Sea Ice

If anything, Antarctica is getting colder. Anyway, this whole melting of permafrost accelerating global warming has been threatened for years and has never materialized. It's the secondary effects that the globalist warmers have had to resort to because the primary driver of their warming, Co2, has pretty much been debunked.

Global warming would first show up in cold regions at night. I'm sure a little warming would be greatly appreciated for humans living in such hostile enviroments.

The Russians are scared to death that we're entering a new cooling phase. I think they're right. Cold kills, much more than warmth.
