Re: UN plan for when the robots take all the jobs. It seems like a bunch of Postmodern Globalists want to turn not just the US, but the whole durn "First World" workforce into dumbed-down lefty activists.
And to import as many low-skill workers who cannot speak or read the lingo of the First World country they are allowed to migrate to in ongoing large numbers...
That dystopian plan was in place. It might have continued to have rolled out through a Hillary administration. Lordy! She might have kept her promise to "out-Merkel Merkel."
If so, she might have had enough lefty support to push through enough corrupt changes to establish a national version of what we see in corrupt one-party big cities like Chiacago.
Then we might well have moved to that worldwide UBI in upcoming very soon years. A worldwide UB1! What a great way to tax mostly the First World to pay the whole rest of the world a welfare payment.
Actually, like most "developing world aid" right now, it would have flowed to national leaders and mostly stayed with them.
A dream of a dreamy world-elite member who is currently topping the UN that we mostly pay for. THat is the world that almost was - certainly one of the really "possibles."
But - instead, in the US, Pres Trump. Eastern Europe has several "Western Civ heroes" analogous to Pres Trump in that respect. There is no close analogy to our gift of a President, to be sure.
Soros is fighting back from his humiliating ejection from his former very strong base in his birth-country, Hungary. Our Dems have much strength here yet, from billionaires like Soros as well as anti-Trump billionairs with the Kochs, who are not pro-Dem, but are solidly "resisty."
The EU elite still fights for that dystopian future, as does much else of the world elite, well represented at the top of the UN. Thus the intial post-article.
Our side has a fight, a long one, still to be fought. As an incredible gift in our past named Ben is reputed to have said to some dame - I think it was something like -
Ah - maybe we can keep this Republic kickin' for a while, Sister. Its up to all of us to fight to hold on to it. Get me, Doll?"
Sadly, the wise warning from that streetwise old ladys man is not taught at all. Here in sunny Florida, the Repub Gov candidate wants to restart old fashioned Civics in our schools.
Yes! State by State we must fight to keep it - and to keep a Trumpy Fed Gov running most of the Gov, God help us.
And our continually strengthening biz climate should support expaning our space developement from mostly Gov spenidng to mostly Corp spending - including developing those asteroids!
Re: UN plan for when the robots take all the jobs. I would remind Spud that inflation occurs when the money supply is increased irrespective of demand for goods and services, NOT simply through printing money. Therefore, if robots take over the production side of making and servicing, competing to sell their wares to people who remain as consumers who are spending money generated by the robots who don’t need it, there would be no inflation.
Re: UN plan for when the robots take all the jobs. Ex, I had learned in college that Inflation was defined as "too much currency chasing too few goods and services." That definition may be way out of date. Depression, is too few currency chasing too many goods and services.
Economist and futurist Robin Hanson is betting that these AI's will demand a cut of the wealth they produce and also voting rights. They can, of course, be hacked, but then, so can we biologicals. :-(

What if I printed 10,000 Spud Marks? Where in London, could you use these as currency??
