Sorry, lucid, I think I must add you to the lost list. You've been lost-listed lucid.

Lol, why do you feel that way? What does that even mean?

Account closed permanently. I won't stand for abuse of authority by forum administration to censor criticism of a conservative radio host that celebrated the death of AIDS patients on his show. Maybe some day we'll speak again elsewhere.

You are expecting change to make you happy. That never works.

There is a saying I learned years ago. It is one of the most profound things I have ever heard: "No matter where you go...there you are."

Think about it.

I don't know why you would assume that I'm not happy now. I can simultaneously be quite happy with today and optimistic about how future technology may impact our sources of entertainment.

Wanting what you don't have is practically the definition of unhappiness. I could be mistaken, but I don't think so.

What an absurd premise. I'm quite happy. I have a career that fulfills and provides for me, family that I love and loves me and I have access to nearly limitless entertainment. Why would you assume that I'm unhappy just because I can extrapolate into the future? Everyone has things they want, but not everyone is unhappy.

I won't try to convince you that you are unhappy. I just know that Ex framed her response, "I really like..."

You framed your response, "I would really like..."

See the difference?

What I see is that you're making incorrect assumptions based on ambiguous wording. The thread title and original post asked me to visualize the future, not to opine about the present.

You're ridiculous.

I was lying in bed playing a game in my mind: Assuming technology permits, what would I like to be doing? What do I see myself doing?. I realized that no matter what I visualized, there was some aspect about it that made me uneasy. There was some chore it would entail that kept it from being, essentially, any better than what I have.

I have a really easy life now. However, I have discovered that when I have a really easy life, the one day of the week when I have to get up early in the morning and tend to real responsibilities becomes all-consuming. It is a very curious phenomenon. If I had to work one day of the year, I would spend the whole year dreading that one day.
