Do you respect the wisdom of a Superintelligence?

When an AGI with SAI abilities emerges - an IQ that makes any human a fool in comparison. If its that smart then surely we have to handover political/social decisions to this being. And what if you disagree with the SAI - you gonna argue with it? You think you can come up with an argument the SAI hasnt considered?

For example, Abortion. Its a binary choice. you cant have a sort-of abortion. Either you vac out that blob of semi-developed human - or you dont. Its a contencious issue but no matter which side of the argument you are on - Do you really think a SAI that held the opposite view to yourself couldnt outsmart you on this issue?

And given that there are many decisions we consider political to be debated - how you gonna feel when the SAI Oracle says "No, you're wrong - we must do this way because [insert Superintelligent argument]"

Will you respect the SAI? Or will you irrationally oppose?

All humans have rights.
They have freedom.

No freedoms can violate others rights.

Your values do not supersede mine.

Only a universal system can work things out.

I don't think I'd simply accept a superintelligence's opinions on ethics or morality. If we're talking economics, math, technology, research and development etc then sure.

Our experience with AI thus far has been that it analyzes issues in much greater depth and takes into account far more information.

I would trust it on any of the things on Lucid's trust list.

On issues of ethics and morality, it is likely to turn over stones that we either have never thought of or never had access to. Issues that seem to be a matter of opinion will turn out to be as resolute as whether or not the Pythagorean theorem can be proven.

Are not ethics and morality intrinsically linked to things like economics. Ayn Rand?

What if the Oracle weighs up all the data and decides that a Marxist model is the best? Happy to go along with that?

(Tbh my actually belief is the Oracle will come up with something thats completely different from the Marxist/Rand spectrum due to the fact theyll be so much transformative technology - eg. 3d printing - those ideologies will thankfully be thrown in the dustbin)

The problem is that ethical and moral issues don't have explicit metrics that you can measure. Is it more ethical to create the greatest good for the greatest number, or to maximize technological progress at the expense of the poorest or least able to contribute to society?

A superintelligence could answer questions like "Which will create more long-term growth, a tax cut for corporations or a tax increase that funds job training programs?" but it can't tell us which of those is more moral or ethical, because those terms rely on the collective emotional baggage that humans carry around. If we impart that baggage to a superintelligence, then we're really just asking it to reflect what we already believe.

Well, value judgement can be programmed, but it is just a weight. In other words it will have the values of the programmer, so garbage in garbage out.

I seriously doubt we'll get human-like intelligence in machines, but I kinda like the TV show "Humans".
